Vintage Automobile Museum of New Jersey

Category: Museum (16 listings)

Although there are museums and attractions throughout the state that contain antique cars, there is not one true antique automobile museum in all of New Jersey. All museums are a necessity, for they play a vital role in the nations educational system. They add a more tangible dimension to what can be learned from sitting in a classroom, or from watching TV. Our goals are to not only bring antique cars to a central viewing place, but to also preserve history, share that history and take pride in a history that truly encouraged and shaped growth in this country.

Plans for the museum include programs to enrich the lives of students of all grade levels. The automobile is an extraordinarily rich object, embracing science, mathematics, history, foreign languages, aesthetics, and civil and social issues. Students, scouts, community groups, and special audiences will benefit from our programs. Hands on exhibits will be developed for all age groups.

For the adult population we will have lecture series, such as the history of the automobile, car collecting, racing, and the impact of the automobile on society. We will also sponsor workshops that will provide fundamental knowledge about the parts of a car, how it works, and basic maintenance techniques.

If you like old cars, you have to catch their HISTORY ON WHEELS, where they bring at least one car from each decade and talk about that time in history. They can cruise, but this kicks it up another notch.
