Just beautiful! You really learn a lot about the life of the families who lived there from the movie they show and the pictures and letters. The Victorian home that is part of the lighthouse is beautiful, as are the grounds. A must see when you are at the Shore.
This is the perfect family town. The beaches are clean and guarded. There is free family entertainment all summer long, sponsored by the Library and the Avalon Performing Arts Council. Purchased our summer home here in '83 and are now retired here - found it is a wonderful place to be in the winter, too.
Try to eat there when we are on LBI for the Surflight Theater. Good food and atmosphere.
Lots of wonderful pictures show the history of Avalon and the people who first settled here. The building is beautiful, too.
My favorite restaurant! Love the food and atmosphere. Always go early to enjoy the atmoshpere at the bar and have the bartender recommend a wine. Have never had anything but a wonderful meal there.
Best in South Jersey, not just the Shore. People who work there are nice to deal with and care about the community.
My family loves their cream donuts - claim they are the best. I love their stollens - they are the best. The lines there are very long, but they are staffed well and keep it moving. They are worth the wait.
They are kept clean and have lifeguards. While they are not as big as Wildwood's, they are wide and beautif and not over crowded. Avalon is a wonderful place for families.
