Upper Darby Summer Stage is one of the nation's oldest and most successful youth theater programs. Since 1976 Upper Darby Summer Stage has presented outstanding children's musicals and Broadway shows created by more than 700 participants and a professional staff of more than 90.

Congratulations!!! Well deserved! I am the person I am today because of this program. I started out at age 11 and not only discovered theatre but found life-long friends and learned how to be responsible and professional. Eventually I became a staff member, and went on to study theatre. Now I am a professional actor and teaching artist working in Philadelphia and New York - but no matter where I go, nothing compares with the magic of UD Summer Stage!
(My first New York City apartment roomates were friends I met at Summer Stage and we have all gone on to find success in our careers!) Thanks, Harry for "filling our world with love!"

You have to witness the enthusiasm and talent that that is so evident in every production. The children are truly sad when they become seniors and can no longer participate in the Children's Theater program. What a testimonial to Harry Dietzler, the director of the program!

Fantastic local talent from all over Delaware County. Direction and casting is impeccable. Shows are incredibly inexpensive in a very comfortable auditorium. No better way to see a top class show.

After years of taking my two children to see Upper Darby Summer Stage shows, I have had the privilege the past three years to watch my son enjoy this program as a student and actor.
As a parent I have always wanted to make sure my children were happy and confident people. The Summer Stage program has helped me do just that by offering an amazing place for my son tolaugh, learn and act!!!! My second child can't wait till next summer when she is old enough to join!!!

Summer Stage has been a great experience for my daughter who started in 5th grade and has continued for 5 years. She loves it and looks forward to it each year. It is a great confidence builder and teaches a lot of life lessons as well as giving the kids lots of fun! The shows are always top notch and the whole family enjoys attending each year.
This program is amazing in so many ways. From 5th grade to college I learned about singing, acting, dancing, and life. I was applauded for what I gave on stage, but gained many times more. I recommend that all, young and old, go to enjoy this gem.
As a technician, I have learned everything I know about theatre at Upper Darby Summer Stage. The program has enabled me to start out as a paying summer stager and taught me enough to morph into a paid staff member. The past four summers I have worked with professional designers and technicians, and have been fortunate enough to learn using high quality equipment and instruments. UDSS is a great program.
Outstanding performances that amaze us every single time we see a new show. We can't wait for next season!
Best musical theater for children, BY children in the tri-state area!
Upper Darby Summer Stage is the best theatre program around. We have been involved for 6 years and count down the days to the next summer stage.
I started attending Summer Stage performances when I was young with my mom and brother. I fell in love with the program as an audience member and knew immediately that I had to be apart of the magic of summer stage. When I was 11 years old I joined the program and I've been hooked ever since. I started as an apprentice and then began performing in children's theater. I began to work there as I got older in the box office, group sales, and then children's theater music director. I am still performing in the mainstage program each year and I look forward to it all year long. I currently a chorus director in Maryland and I recommend Upper Darby Summer Stage to everyone I meet!
