I am a resident of South Jersey and was hesitant about crossing the river to look at pianos for my daughter. So, we visited a couple of stores in our local area first. As someone who believes in integrity I was actually pushed across the river after dealing with ONE of the south jersey stores. Not only did their sales person make me feel pressured, they set out to slam Cunningham , albeit in a very subtle manner. That doesn't fly with me. So, I told my husband we were going to Phila.
I am so happy I did. I had already seen the interview with one of the owners on Fox 29 as he explained that they were selling a Cunningham line of pianos ( hoping to be affordable) . Although they are not yet manufactored in the US, they turned out to be lovely pieces.
From the moment I set foot in that old building I felt comfortable. Our salesperson, Peter, was very knowledgeable and was not one who hovered. I didn't feel as if I was being pushed in any way. I also appreciated the way he answered our questions in a straightforward manner and if he didn't know the answer, he was more than happy to find it for us.
When I mentioned we had looked at pianos in NJ and some of my discomfort with how "some" choose to sell , not one derogatory comment (actually no comment) came from Peter. It was refreshing to speak with someone who wasn't concerned with pettiness. Actually I got the feeling that that was the overall feeling of this company.
So, while the is no such thing as perfection, I can say that my experience in Germantown was a pleasant surprise and we our now owners of a Cunningham. Thanks to all.
Knowledgeable sales staff! Awesome piano movers!
great customer service, very personable, Rich Galassini is a true gem.
I've dealt with a lot of musical instrument companies and I have to say that Cunningham Piano Company is top rate. They are known world wide and all of their employees are very professional and many musically talented so they know their music and instruments. My first experience with Cunningham included a tour of their restoration plant as well as the sales person (Rich) spending an unbelievable amount of time with me to insure that all questions were properly addressed. However, the service didn't stop there. After my selection of a grand piano they made any adjustments to the piano that I requested. The moving company that Cunningham chose to move my piano across several state lines was top notch as they respected both the instrument as well as my home during delivery. Finally Cunningham took care of several tunings to insure the piano was in stable condition once in my home. This is total commitment by a dealership which is not often matched in this industry. I have another friend who has had the same experience with Cunningham Piano Company.
Cunningham also conducts recitals, lectures, and music programs periodically to educate the music society. Not many music companies will take the time and spend the money to put on such important venues.
Rich has kept in touch with me over the years. He has provided me with information regarding the manufacturer of my piano as well as top technicians in the country. My only regret about Cunningham Piano Company is that they are not located in my home town as I would spend a lot of time at this establishment.
I got my piano there. The salesmen were helpful and flexible with my delivery. Great products at reasonable prices.
The Cunningham Piano Company has always given wonderful service to me and my students.
Great History, Great knowledge base with a Great staff and great service--
I played 30 pianos and visited three other stores before Cunningham. You can go lots of places, but why waste your time.?.
You can't do better any where. Might as well go to the best first.

excellent service! Great pianos
The Cunningham Piano Company is the best in the whole city; beautiful pianos, great location and wonderful space in the store for many things, including performances. I would recommend this store to anybody either new to Philadelphia or a native looking to buy a good piano.
Nice guys! Can't go wrong!
Hands down, the best. Not only in Philly, but also on the entire east coast, if not the country. Splendid product, fabulous customer service, and unmatched value. We recommended them for every venue.

In Jan. '06, Cunningham started the restoration of my 1920 Duo Art Steinway. My husband and I were always welcome to come and see what stage the rebuilding was currently in and it was an amazing experience. With Cunninghams' artistry and craftsmanship, they had transformed this tired 86 yr old piano into a masterpiece and I will always always be grateful to them for it. When I go to Cunningham piano to show a serious student their pianos, I always feel like a kid in a candy shop. I don't want to leave! Great selection, great prices--a teacher's dream!
In my opinion, the Cunningham Piano Company is the only place in Philadelphia to buy a piano. Expert sales staff, expert technical staff, and a fantastic showroom all add up to a truly unique experience whether purchasing a new instrument, one of their rebuilt instruments, or having your own instrument meticulously restored. It's no contest!
I clearly remember the shopping anxiety that came along with purchasing a grand piano. You don't know who's telling telling you the straight story. I eventually bought a Mason and Hamlin from Cunningham's couple of years ago and couldn't be happier. After shopping around I was convinced that Cunningham's had the best selection of pianos and an excellent sales and support staff to help me with my purchase. Cunningham's had the inventory of selection to try Astonias, Masons, Yamahas, Steinways and unexplicably expensive Bosendorfers. It's really hard, almost impossible, to find the selection of pianos that they offer in one location. As a consumer I felt I exhausted all of the possible choices before purchasing my Mason and I don't think I could have done without the help of people at Cunningham's. Thanks.
Great piano dealer. They restore pianos in a factory where they have been doing this for over a century. They carry the hottest brands, like Estonia, and Boseddorfer for very reasonable prices.
Awesome customer service!
