I offer congratulations to The Columbia for winning Best Romantic Restaurant!
I recently learned of this best of listing, and I am sorry to say I did not make it in time to cast my vote for this wonderful restaurant, they would have definitely received my vote.
I grew up in Phoenixville and I recently moved back to the area after 10 years. The Columbia was always a favorite of our family growing up, in which this was my first choice of where to go for a great meal. I could not believe the beautiful transition that took place while I was gone. A definite winner for food and decor. I simply love the soups. And the menu caterers to everyone’s taste. I MUST get there this weekend to have a meal. And I MUST bring back a date and take advantage of the romantic décor.
Had another relaxing evening at the Columbia last night, enjoying the great martini's, food and live entertainment after a tough week at work. We can always count on a great time and The Columbia is truly deserving of winning the best romantic!
Congratulations to a true class establishment! We have been regulars for many years and the food, service and staff are beyond exceptional. There is no need to travel to an expensive steakhouse, when we have this gem in our very own town.
Joe the critic must have gone to the Columbia on a full moon night. My wife and I have been customers of this establishment for years. The Food is great and service is excellent also. On Saturday nights eat upstairs and listen to the "Piano Man" Dale he is quite amazing on the piano.
I just read the first comment on the list & just have to say that I truly disagree. I have always had a wonderful experience at the Cloumbia and have never left unhappy. Maybe they had a bad day but who doesn't. I wish everyone can know that nobody's perfect & if these concerns were voiced the day it happened maybe it could've been fixed so that they left happy. Just a thought.....
On the advice of a friend, a few of my co workers and I went out to the Columbia for what I thought was supposed to be a nice after work meal. My first impression of the place started before I even got out of my car. A few of the employees were out in the parking lot, goofing off, and making their profanities heard clear across the parking lot. This put me into my first alert, because I had heard that this was a very upscale type of place. We proceeded into the bar area, where the atmosphere was sleepy at best. Our bar tender must have been prone to the sleepiness too, because our food order that came out first, wasn't even our order. I didn't think that our dinners should have come out before our appetizers, and certainly not 5 minutes after I ordered it. The bar tender seemed a little short tempered when we told her that wasn't our order. She did quickly realize her mistake, but it seemed like she was ready to argue before she figured it out. We then proceeded to wait 45 minutes, for an order of calamari, a salad, and an order of onion rings. My friend liked the calamari, while my other friend complained that his ceasar salad was luke warm. I had no problem with the way my onion rings tasted, but I was told by the bartender that they were homemade. I eat out enough, to tell anyone who might not know better, that these must come out of a box or a bag because I have had this exact same kind at several restaurants before. Our dinners came out shortly after that. My one friend, got the lobster special, and only complained about it being a little overcooked. Other than that he did seem to enjoy it. My other friend had some kind of BBQ sauce coated pork chop. He ate most of that himself, only saying that his vegtables didn't seem very fresh. My dinner was the fillet mignon. I ordered it medium, but it came out well done and tough. As we all left unsatisfied, we glanced back into the kitchen, to find more goofing going on. Needless to say, I won't be going back.
A beautiful Victorian atmosphere. Elegant yet laid back. Superior drinks, appetizers, entrees and deserts. A great staff. An ambiance and camaraderie I consider second to none. My favorite place!
Great atmosphere..and excellent food.

Absolutely love it there! Great drinks and food!
The Columbia Bar and Grille is a restored hotel with a beautiful Victorian atmosphere.
Laid back and elegant at the same time, they offer superior drinks, appetizers, en trees and deserts. A staff whose top priority is the clientèle's complete satisfaction. An ambiance and camaraderie I consider second to none.
The Columbia is always the first stop for a relaxing and enjoyable evening. The atmosphere is fabulous , the service impeccable, the food terrific. The pomegranate martini's are out of this world. A must experience...
We've never been disappointed with either the food or the atmosphere.
The bartenders at Columbia are great. They make the best Margaritas and the service is impeccable. Their appetizer menu is spectacular, amazing AHI Tuna and the best crabcakes ever.
