Great music, genuine and welcoming hosts (Gerry and Ed), and FANTASTIC food - not at all what i expect in an irish pub, the Shanachie has one of the best chefs in Philly!
he pub has ALL the ingredients of what an Irish Pub should be. Starting with a copy of the 1916 proclamation on the wall to a continuous commitment to the various categories of Irish music, both regularly and special events. With a congenial atmosphere enhanced by a great staff, a menu second to none and of course a wide selection of potables the Shanachie goes beyond a few paper shamrocks and green beer on St. Patrick's to provide a warm experience of Irish Culture. The Proprietors aren't so bad either.
