Poise is strictly pole dancing, for real women, by real women. We are not exotic dancers, and are not here to train you to be. Get in shape while having a great time with a bunch of fun, friendly, professional women! If you can walk, you can pole dance, so no excuses! You need to sign up for each class you attend, on the day you'd like to attend, by calling or emailing Jamie. CLASS SCHEDULE: Mon. and Wed. afternoons from 1-2:30. Mon., Tues., Wed., and Thurs. nights from 6-7:30 and 8-9:30. Sat. afternoons from 2-3:30 and 4-5:30. PRICES: Classes are either $20 each if you pay as you come, (cash or check), OR, if you pay $60 before the month begins, (or $70 after the month begins), you can take unlimited classes all month long! There are no "registration" or any other extra fees. We accept Pay Pal payments online for the $70 deal, as well as for Bachelorette party and private lesson deposits. Our Bachelorette parties are a flat $300 (for 2 hours, for up to 12 girls), and are worth it in pictures alone! Please check out the website for class descriptions, what to wear, directions, policies, and all things Poise! Poise doubles as a Girls Club, so there's always something fun going on! We have 2 fully choreographed pole dance productions per year at Upstairs At Risque' (where they have their male review), where girls get to show their family and friends how beautiful and classy this form of dance can be! Come be a Poise Girl! Learn to pole dance, have fun getting in shape, and make some lifelong friends!

I became interested in pole dancing about a year ago, and it took me awhile to finally decide on a studio to go to. I read such wonderful reviews about Poise online. I was extremely nervous and finally decided to email Jamie about classes, she was so nice and informative just over emails. I finally went to the studio, and I cannot even express how warm hearted all of the women are. No one judges, no one makes you feel stupid, or looks down upon you. Everyone is positive and so encouraging to one another. Everyone wants each other to do well and have fun, there is no competition, no one being catty at all. I really wish I had this type of atmosphere while I was in high school. I've never been an athletic girl at all, and it was amazing to see how much upper body strength I gained, and how I could see the results in my arms within just a few weeks. OOH and Jamie is an organized, positive, and an extremely hard working instructor.

I think that people should focus on voting for their own studios rather than making judgment calls on which category the studio should be in. Its called Myfoxphilly's best dance studio category...that includes all dance studios! Not best ballet studio or best tap studio. Please take a look at the website before you make judgments and you SHOULD monitor what your kids are voting for anyway. I love Poise and it has every right to be in the competition!

I live in New Jersey and would drive all the way to Philadelphia just to come to this class. Jamie is a great laid back instructor with the patience to teach anyone and honestly, that is not that easy to find. Im so angry gas is so much now (plus I just got my own place so I have rent to pay!!! Hey Jamie its Queeni!) because I'd be there everyday, just like when I first discovered this class. I can't say enough great things about what this class can do for women who need something new in their lives. To anyone whose trying to make excuses as to why this studio is in the wrong section is just completely jealous of the support its getting. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with pole dancing except what you may already have swimming around your own twisted mind. Aerial artistry in pole dance is a beautiful, graceful, wonderful thing to watch and to perform, just as ballet, ice skating, or gymnastics is. It takes strength, grace, attitude and confidence to perform such a thing and enjoy it for what it is and maybe some people just dont have that. But dont try to turn it into something bad and that children shouldnt see just because YOU have a perverted mind. Pole dance is beautiful and its here so deal with it.

This is an amazing dance studio! I have gained confidence and skills that every woman would want to have in their lives. I have met women from all fields and all body types and skill levels and they have truely become friends. A combo of dance ,acrobatics and strength make this studio unique and addictive Throw out your inhibitions and misconceptions and come take a class! Its the best thing I ever did!

SIGH. I resent these ignorant posts so much, that I refuse to explain myself. What I will say is "the children" do not see anything "adult" with my studio until you tell them it's something sleazy. And I invite all of you to come and watch a class and see for yourselves before you judge. And when your daughters outgrow their dancing school, and are hanging on the corner with the teenage boys, you will be pushing them to come to my classes, where they will be in a safe, positive, all female environment with smart, confident women they can look up to.
