Wow! Novahoops. I'm so with you. I almost feel guilty giving this place only 4 stars, becaue I had the best Friday night I can remember in months last night. Steve Obadashian (no way I got that right) was outstanding. Played stuff I never hear and dominated it. Sister Christian and Total Eclipse of the Heart were my highlights.
But, not sure why he doesn't usually play that night shift when people really want to go out and party. WE will definitely catch him on Wed or earlier Friday, but this place needs to wise up and put him in primetime.
Such a riot.
MORE STEVE ON THE WEEKENDS! WHOOO!!!!
Would get more stars, but the place is hot and cold. The entertainment is either amazing (Steve O - hilarious and best in the area), or kind of sleepy, uninvolved, and predictable.
The food was a great addition, but not sure what happened to it.
Another positive, they have reduced drink prices significantly (especially for a place with live music and no cover). Still pay your cabfare from ANYWHERE in Philly.
With a better location and with the stars playing on the better nights, this place would be packed all the time.
he plays on wednesdays, too?? i went on a friday - wish i had gotten his autograph! so good
I was there on Wednesday and Steve was the best!!!!
Went on Wed. - Steve Odabashian was great!
Fun place. Only been a few times to see Steve. He is awesome. So glad that they added a food menu. Fun low key place. One of a kind in this city. Reminiscent of the Michael Jacks of times past.
Fun place to go with nice bartenders and live music. Steve Odabashian playing there makes it perfect.
We were there last night (Wed night). Steve O is the master! It was pouring outside, but we were thrilled to be "stuck" at the Piano Bar. The piano playing is unmatched in this city. The singing is passable, but SO entertaining (and good enough musically), but it's the off-the-cuff observations, pop-up video style (VH1), and made up lyrics and silly stories that make this a must see, and a worthy addition to any event. Nothing else like it out there. I've never seen someone enjoy what they're doing as much as this guy.
The place has made changes for the better. The name, first of all, just makes sense now. The drinks are cheaper. There is food (surprisingly good!). And the schedule is better. Took a while maybe for them to figure out Steve O, but he is the main attraction, as far as our group is concerned. The guy takes chances, and it pays off. More weekend nights for him definitely. It was a rare treat to see him last Sat night too.
Keep it up!
Great place. They just reduced some drink prices too, so way more affordable now. Check out the Steve show for sure! And always ask what's new on the list. Constantly updating the playlist (Men at work, Killers)
And when Mike gets back ask for "Devil went down to Georgia" and "It's Raining Men (I kid you not)"
AW!!!! It's Steve Odabashian here. Thanks for the good word, and DEFINITELY come see me. I definitely do the chick rock with an edge. Thanks for noticing. Could use a new "Biz Markie" wig though.
Steve ODabashian is a musical genius. I highly encourage people to see this guy. He is WAY too good and funny. Ask him to sing chick songs (Papa don't preach, Since you've been gone). He rocks em.
Great piano players, friendly staff. My favorite spot!
Great place. Never a bad night.
Great drinks, friendly staff, enjoyable music
Best piano bar. Friendly and sleek atmosphere.
Best service & Entertainment!
The bartenders rock and the music is great. It's something different from the norm, and it's a place where you can feel comfortable going alone. Plus they pay your cab fare to get there!
Great Place, Great People, Great Time!
..."Music produces a kind of pleasure that human nature cannot do without" -Confucius
The music is always great. The bartenders are always friendly. And the crowd is the best!
Great food, fun atmosphere and the best piano player since Billy Joel (maybe better!)
