The City of North Wildwood covers an area 1.8 square miles along the southern New Jersey Coast on land identified as "Five Mile Beach". It shares this "beach" with the City of Wildwood, the Boroughs of West Wildwood and Wildwood Crest, and a portion of Lower Township. The City is located in Cape May County, approximately 30 miles south of Atlantic City and ten miles north of Cape May City. North Wildwood was incorporated in 1917 as a city from what had previously been known as Anglesea Borough and North Wildwood Borough. North Wildwood has a Mayor- council form of government. The voters elect a mayor and seven council members. The Mayor serves a four year term while six councilmembers are elected from wards for three year terms on a staggered basis and one at large council member is elected for a two year term. Under this form of government, the council functions as a legislative body: it must pass ordinances and approve the appointments of the Mayor. The mayor, as executive, is responsible for administrative functions and appointment of all officials.

I wouldn't consider any other place a vacation spot. There's no place like this! I started coming down here at 3 months old and every summer since! I'm now a wife and a mom of 3 and my husband and I take the kids every summer and the LOVE it! They don't even have any desire to go anywhere else. They count the days left of school because that is always our first trip to Wildwood for the summer. This place is clean, reasonable, the best places to eat are here, the biggest FREE beaches are found here! Why go anywhere else??? If you've never been, try it this summer. If you are a regular, you know why you come back. There's just a spirit here that you don't find anywhere else in the world.
2nd Street Beach in North Wildwood is the best.It is clean safe and family friendly. We just love going to the beach with our children and grandchildren. We all love the beach at 2nd and Surf Ave.!

The beaches are great, clean, not too big and not over crowded. They also have volleyball nets and bathrooms. Can go right up to boardwalk for lunch. Very family oriented.

I am 55 yrs old, have always vacationed in Wildwood, but always walked or driven to the point [North Wildwood]. It's the better beach, closer, ocean meets bay, you can see ocean in all directions. The most wonderful place in the world. Closest to Heaven for true beach lovers.
LARGE ENOUGH TO HAVE ROOM. FREE, CLEAN LIFE GAURDS AND THERE ARE ALWAYS DOLPHINS NEARBY.
It is just awesome! First of all it is free, the water is not a mile away, and it is so clean! Far enough from the boards, but still family friendly, quiet and peaceful! Nothing compares, in my opinion.
