Friendly staff and great selection.
MarsRed carries a great collection of music, including a big used section. The owner, Scott Wellborn, is very knowledgeable and ready to help in finding the music you want. And the staff are helpful and knowledgeable as well. It's a great store with a great atmosphere!
Special orders. If they don't have it they can get if for you in less than a week.
Scott, the owner will go out of his way to find a special album for you. The store stocks a lot of different, good genres of music. Very friendly staff.
What's not to say, this place is incredible! An amazing selection of new and old music as well as up and coming indie rock artists. The staff are friendly and helpful with any questions or personal music recommendations. By far the best music store I have ever been to!
Scott at Mars-Red and his employees are THE reason I will never cave in to the trend of downloading music. They provide a truly personal experience and are always quick to offer honest opinions (positive or negative) if asked, and order any CD the instant you express an interest. He also maintains a great web page and emails recent release updates.
They actually have real music there & killer shows... it helps that they have the coolest staff EVER.

Their selection is so varied. They provide specialized customer service and are so kind and helpful online and in person. I like the ambiance of their store and applaud them for keeping their store original and unique even in a town like they are in. They are the best CD store ever! I always go there to get whatever I need. They do special orders and get it to you within days at a 5% discount. The owner is the best. Always friendly and nice. Mars Red is the best.
Far from being a franchised CD shopping experience, marsRED usually has the type of music and CDs I want. If not they get them rather quickly.
I also admire the fact that I can actually talk with the shop's owner as opposed to the usual "plunk down disc, money, leave, repeat" routine that mars so many small CD shop. And it's also as clean as it is friendly.
Mars Red knows how to cater to its customers and makes seeking out new music a breeze.
marsRED music is an independent store with a cool & knowledgeable owner & staff. They carry many indie bands that you wont find in many other stores, plus there are regular e-mails sent out with cd & concert updates.
I love a store where you can walk in and ask for any artist and they smile and know who you mean. Unlike some other "indie" stores where the clerks only know one genre of music and look at you as if you have three heads. MarsRED makes you feel welcome.

MarsRED is a wonderful, small, friendly, full-service store. Scott and his crew have created a place where browsing and buying are fun.
I just always feel relaxed when I go to MarsRed they always ask how your doing. They just are very nice there.
Just love the atmosphere... very chill and laid back.
They have cheap cds. Good used selection. DVDs. Discounts for special orders. Can find any cd (almost) and support the music scene. Run by two fine Scott's, they are always good for some chit chat about different up and coming musicians. They support WXPN, but also support local artists like Sara O'brien and allow you to listen to ANY cd before purchase and have a 8-10 cd listening station of all the new music. Sound good?
