Margot & Camille Optique is an upscale optical store located between Race and Arch on 2nd Street. The space is warm and inviting with bright orange walls and hard wood floors. Typical of an Old City boutique, it’s about 11 square feet of space with stairs that lead to an underground space where more frames are displayed and special events are hold, such as 1st Friday Art exhibits. Even in a small space Margot and Camille’s isn’t overwhelming or cluttered with glasses packed from floor to ceiling. Instead, the space feels cozy. Only a marginal part of the room is used for displaying the glasses. Why? Because only a very certain type of frame can be found here. The styles are very European, smart, art curator looking. With displays that appear to disappear from the walls, attracting the eyes to unique and exclusive eyewear it definitively gives a very Zen look with a French accent. The owner Valerie Vittu, will tell you its because the store is feng-shui, but she certainly generates a wonderful energy she communicates to her staff and clientele. At Margot & Camille Optique shopping for eyewear is definitively fun and leaves you with a satisfaction about yourself and your eyewear. Enjoy it one pair after an another. Open Tuesday through Friday: 10-6pm. Wednesday:10-7.30pm Saturday 11-6. Sunday: 11-4. Monday: Closed.

Have Valerie pick 3 pairs of glasses for you and I bet you'll like all 3 and buy at least one! She's amazing at finding a pair to fit your look, your life, and your likes. She has very unique glasses - it's always nice knowing you won't be seeing others with *your* cool pick. Then there's the quality...I've been to other places where they had to try several times to get my lenses and the fit of the glasses right. With Valerie, it's been perfect the first time!

Valerie is the only one I can trust with my glasses. She has an eye for shape like no one else. Sorry she moved to Philadelphia, NYC was much easier for me, but after all the distance doesn’t stop anything. Paris-NYC or Paris- Philadelphia is about 7 hours anyway. Keep on going!
