The lighthouse is set is just ok...but the surrounding grounds and flower gardens make it a step above the rest..amazing...a shore must see.

Just beautiful! You really learn a lot about the life of the families who lived there from the movie they show and the pictures and letters. The Victorian home that is part of the lighthouse is beautiful, as are the grounds. A must see when you are at the Shore.

I love the garden during the month of June. The person in charge of maintaining the grounds is doing a great job. As a local I want to thank him.

Walking through the beautiful gardens in early /mid July is absolutely breathtaking! Following the trail, you arrive at a beautiful spot (with benches)overlooking the ocean. The inside tour is very worthwhile, too. It is a true gem!

Hereford is not just a lighthouse, the inside is lovely and interesting. The location is one of the most beautiful anywhere. You walk back through the beautiful gardens and reach the most gorgeous scenery there is. The water is so blue, Stone Harbor is in the distance, just breathtaking. The history of the lighthouse and the memorabelia they have displayed is worth the trip to see it.

ever since i was eally little and my grandparents took me on bikerides on the boardwalk, i would always make sure we got to the lighthouse. i would love going through the gardens, its like a maze, and going out to the beach. i also loved looking at the buterflies.

When my wife had a gastric bypass, she vowed to climb to the top of Hereford which was something she was unable to do...it's 5 stories tall. One year and 100 pounds later, mission accomplished!
PS, the Photo is our son Daniel, this March @ Hereford

I got married there but you can't do that anymore which I think is a shame. The gardens are beautiful and so is the view of the inlet.

I guess this is a "non-tradtional" lighthouse, but it is so charming, and the gardens are beautiful. It's a very serene place to visit.
