It is well established that the name "GENJI" is synonymous with the finest sushi in Philadelphia. Genji began as a small Japanese restaurant in the University City area of Philadelphia (4002 Spruce Street) on April 17, 1982. It was the product of the combined visions of Hideo Omori (President) and Toshio Hosaka (Chief Executive Chef), whose commitment to high quality and gracious service quickly set the standard by which all other Japanese restaurants in the Philadelphia area would be measured. The tradition of "Genji" has enjoyed twenty years of growth, praise, and success in the Philadelphia area.

Genji is the place I go to for sushi and Japanese food in Philly. They serve the most authentic and freshest dishes, and the ambiance is very nice. The sushi chefs are trained in Japan, which shows in the masterpieces they create. The service is also great. If you need help ordering, the staff is always willing to explain and make suggestions. Whether you're a first timer or a sushi connoisseur, I recommend Genji to everyone!

"This is my favorite place in Philly, and I eat there or pick up from them almost weekly. I love that you can get anything on the menu made with brown rice.! The prices are incredibly affordable, and they have freshly prepared sushi to pick up if you want to grab something and go. and when I place orders they are always ready quickly. I only wish they were open on Sundays because I usually have sushi cravings when they are closed, and it's just not as good anywhere else!"

I love Genji sushi because I'm a long time sushi fan what it makes Genji sushi better then all of other sushi out there is because their friendly service and the fresh tasty of their product by using all natural and healthy ingredients. You don't have to believe me - just visit one of their sushi bar locations and you will find out yourself . The joy of sushi!

The fish is always so fresh, and the restaurant does not try to go for a hip look-and-feel like so many sushi restaurants today. They stay within the traditional menu.
