Dave's road to fame began with a strong hankerin' for fine barbecue and a stronger desire to make the finest slow-smoked barbecue folks had ever tasted. He visited rib shacks, roadside joints, every hole-in-the-wall or fancy pants supper club he could, all in search of the most succulent meats, savory seasonings and lipsmackin' sauces around.

I love this place especially the beef brisket. This is a very laid back, casual atmosphere. great portions size and family oriented. It does stay busy and there sometimes can be a little wait but for the most part I haven't had to wait more than 15-20mins tops.

Famous Dave's has the best ribs anywhere. They are tender and juicy. The sauces can't be beat. The potato salad tastes homemade and the cornbread is so good you can eat it like it's a dessert! The pulled pork is excellent! The chicken suberb! And to top it off, they have fresh brewed ice tea, not that instant junk! Who could ask for better.
I am from down south and this compares to the best southern BQ up here
Prices, Family Style setting and tasty
They are the closest thing to southern BBQ that I've found here.
They have the best BBQ for the best prices the atmosphere is true to the style of cooking. It is a great place to bring the kids (a balloon artist walks around on the weekends making animals for the kids) we love it - I tell everyone to go there.
Absolutely the best smoked brisket and ribs in Philly.
