Eastern Mountain Sports was founded in 1967 in Wellesley Massachusetts by two rock climbers who had become dissatisfied with the poor selection of climbing equipment they found in existing stores. In addition to selling climbing gear, they added a selection of camping equipment in hopes of making money from the hobby that had turned into a viable business.

I'm not a big fan of the great outdoors, but my new wife is. These guys helped get me ready for my first trip into the wilderness. Love the new store. If I make it back, I'll definitly visit again.

New store in the Moorestown Mall is amazing. The customer service and knowledgable staff are second to none. The gear selection is among the best in top of the line manufacturers of outdoor gear, from Arbor, Gnu, Capita, and Never Summer snowboards to Northe Face, and Mountain Hardwear's true tested outdoor gear, to Necky Kayaks and the new Scott and Rocky Mountain road, cross, and mountain bikes. And if your looking for climbing gear look no further, they have it all and if not they can get it.
Was in the area and stopped in. They have everything and more! Will travel to shop here. Everyone in the store was super nice, and helpful . Couldn't ask for a better shopping experience.
