Discovered the Dixie Picnic at breakfast the day we were leaving and quickly decided to order eight box lunches for the trip home. Can't wait for this summer! We'll get there the day we arrive this time! Food is great (I know because I had a bite of all eight lunches.)

DP's Upcakes rock!! We drove all the way to the King of Prussia mall this year JUST to take home a dozen Upcakes because we couldn't wait until they reopened for Summer 2008!!

I went to the place that was here before DP (I can't remember for the life of me what it was called!) and was sincerely disappointed to see a new restaurant where an old favorite had once stood, however I quickly changed once I tasted their sandwiches and french toast! MhmmMhmmMhmm!

Summer 2007 went to DP for dinner. Very good food but no full service was an issue.Went back for breakfast (full service not an issue for brekky).Above and beyond. Tower french toast with a special butter was great (had to ask for syrup!?!).Eggs and potatoes were perfect. My aunt loved her omelet.Fluffy and different from the other places.Kids didn't like the toast but loved the choco chip cakes. Kids loved the fish pond but we hated it because we had to keep washing their hands after they touched the sand and stones enticing them. Staff working seemed unguided.Typical seasonal help?Better management needed to go to next level.Food is the vote, however and it is real.

I almost hate to vote for the Dixie Picnic because I know it will be swarmed with summer people and there will be no room for us locals. However, I am hoping if their business really soars in the summer they will remain open year round and I can have them all to myself off-season. Their "Stickies" are suberb with a cup of coffee and the newspaper. The new sturdier tables have been a very welcome addition. The Dixie Picnic rocks!!!

"My family has been going to the shore for many years, and never before have we encountered a restaurant like this one! With gregarious personnel, classic southern foods such as sticky buns (Southern Stickies), Key Lime pie, and a variety of sandwiches and side salads, Dixie Picnic in Ocean City reminds us to slow down, eat a meal together, and rediscover the nuances of a classic picnic!

This is a great little place for the whole family! Something about the low tech warm atmosphere and the fish pond that the kids just loved! The upcakes are a real hit to take home as a "shore gift". There's just something about Dixie Picnic that is totally different from any other shore place.

What a refreshing change for lunch down the shore! My family loved the box lunches. They were the perfect beach meal ( no more messy, sandy pizza! And the box is the perfect defense from rogue seagulls!) The chicken salad is amazing. We had breakfast in the restaurant and ordered our box lunch to go. The up cakes are great, especially the coconut. Another reason to look forward to vacation at the beach.
