I am a native born Philadelphian and moved to the Jersey shore when I was 9 years old. With an inborn love of art, I was naturally drawn to the art of tattooing. I was 16 when I got my first tattoo and knew from that moment on this was what I wanted to do, starting with a home made machine in my mom's shed. I struggled to learn everything I needed to know to become a professional in my field. I bought my first set of real machines when I was 20. I got my first seat in a professional shop when I was 23 and knew I was on my way.
With a passion to own my own business, after 16 years in the business I opened my own shop gained 2 amazing artist and 1 piercer along the way.

Congrats to all the other winners in our category...though we are highly disappointed to find out that due to the fact that we won,the second place finisher has banned all of us here at Cohwen's Ink Emporium from visiting their establishment in the future! This was with the threat of being arrested if we even stepped foot on their property! We deeply regret being the cause of any hurt feelings!
The guys are very nice and I got a piercing that didn't hurt at all!

cohens is an amazing place. its so clean, and has fantastic artists. john unruh did my last tattoo at rebel, and he seems alot happier and alot more comfortable at cohens, as was i. they're really a fun bunch of guys. very hard working and easy going. my tattoo is great and healed very well with the advise john and cohan gave me. i will allways go back and i recomend it to everyone else. its really a great place. and hey! they're pretty freakin handsome are'nt they?

Its simple. Cohwens Ink Emporium is the shop to go to. Everyone their is making a name for themselves. I know other places already have a name but in my opinion they take their reputation for granted. it shows in the appearance of the shop, the quality in the "artists" that work their and the relationship between the artists and their customers. It all shows when contests like this happen. Look at the posts. Read them. Its clear. And some shops are scared and should be. I totally recommend every artist at Cohwen's Ink Emporium they all do solid tattoos. have a flair in style and composition and all are brutally honest. qualities i have not seen in other tattoo shops in the area. good work guys. Oh my god!!! These guys are so creative!!! I went in for my first tattoo and the place smelled so clean and nice, the people are so friendly! I only had a few sketchy ideas but they came up with an amazing work of art that I have forever now! I will definitely be back for more!!!
