I go through phases where I absolutely live in this place! This is probably the most comfortable place in philly to sit and do work, read a store-copy of national geographic, or hang out with friends.
The baristas are incredible and very friendly, the brownies are unparalleled, and the ancho mocha is a delight!
And who doesn't love Jessica?
The atmosphere here makes me so happy, the art is always changing, and the place was rehabbed incredibly!

Chapter House is owned and operated by some very special people who care about and really like their product, their community, about art and artists, and themselves. What a combination. Regulars and visitors are always welcomed warmly and coming back quickly becomes a compulsion.

Excellent coffee, espresso and sweets, fantastic space and lots of it, great place to relax or to work, small but tasty menu of savory treats, and friendly staff. Free WiFi too? You can't go wrong.

Great coffee in a cool looking atmosphere (check out see the beautiful tile mosaics). Plus it's a cafe that you can actually sit and read without too many distractions. Love it!

The Chapterhouse is an hip mix of great coffee, art and, most importantly, people. Forget chains, this is the best coffee house in Philly.

I was so sad when i moved out of bella vista and away from my beloved chapterhouse. now i have to bike from the other side of the city for the best double latte in town. and the music? always spot on. they know what i want to hear before i do.

A good cup of coffee, a muffin, and some espresso-yeah they've got that. But how about Thai style iced tea, coconut soda, and some really good scones. But this isn’t a sip and leave kind of place--buzzing with blackberries and briefcases--it’s an art gallery, a living room, a library, a garden room with open windows letting sunshine pour in. The employees are genuine and always seem to be smiling--no matter how long the line is at the counter. They’ll remember your face, ask you “what’s up?” and will even bring your cup of coffee to you--so that you can go grab a seat and set up your laptop. And after a while you’ll recognize faces around you and start to feel like one big caffeinated family.
