Welcome to Cape May and the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts (MAC). Formed in 1970 to save the 1879 Emlen Physick Estate from the wrecking ball, MAC now operates the 18-room restored mansion as Cape May's only Victorian house museum. MAC also restored and operates the 1859 Cape May Lighthouse where visitors can climb the 199 steps to the top for a breathtaking view of the Delaware Bay and Atlantic Ocean.
Year-round, MAC offers a full schedule of tours and events, including trolley, boat, walking, and ghost tours, food and wine events, summertime family activities, Spring Festival in April and May, the Cape May Music Festival in May and June, Victorian Week in early October, Halloween activities in late October and six weeks of Christmas tours and events. Let us help you plan the perfect visit to Cape May!
It is the most interesting lighthouse because it can be viewable.
well kept
What a view, I could see Delaware from the top.
It has amazing views!
The view from the top is awesome!
Best one around
It still guides ships and crafts entering Delaware Bay, Atlantic Ocean and Cape May Canal.
I love Cape May, NJ and love to visit the Lighthouse. Have climbed it once and I have a fear of heights but did it and even walked around the outside. Just had to do it as I love lighthouses and the Cape May Lighthouse is cool. If you visit Cape May, dont' leave without going to the lighthouse and climbing all 199 stairs. If I did it you can too. :)
I'll be down on May 24 and will be at the lighthouse once again.
Lucy
I used to live in Cape May and for a while climbed to the top of the lighthouse once a month
My kids and I have climbed the Cape May Lighthouse at least twenty times. My boys each actually 'climbed' the lighthouse while I was pregnant. We also really enjoy the nature walks by the lighthouse and the new 'boardwalk' installed this past year. We treasure our memories here! THANK YOU, Lisa Gray
