For years, diners were handed a limited menu when it came to Indian restaurants. They could choose either upscale, fine-dining establishments or low-end curry shops. There was no middle ground. Clearly it was time to take the cuisine to a new level according to Sushi Malhotra, who founded Dawat, New York's most acclaimed Indian restaurant. With that goal in mind, Mr. Malhotra joined with Rajesh Bhardwaj to create a vibrant and contemporary Indian bistro-Cafe Spice. Best Indian in Philly. Great food. Great Service. Great bar service. Turns into a club on Friday and Saturday nights and gets really packed. Authentic dishes. Unique presentation you don't see very often at Indiant restaurants. Ambiance is very nice. Cool music. Staff is very nice and friendly. Highly Recommended!!
I am from Greensboro, NC and I went to Cafe Spice this Sunday on my trip to PA. The food was awesome and the service is cool.

The food is delicious, complex, and served in large portions.
Over time almost all Indian places drift towards North Indian food - Cafe Spice is still different in spite of the business challenge - Goan food there is yummy!

I'm originally from VA visiting family, and went to Cafe Spice's "bollywood nite", It was amazing. The dinner was fabulous, the service staff knew the menu inside out. And the hostess was very accommodating, even though the kitchen was almost closed they accommodated a party of 10. A must for every one who misses their homeland.
