Buckalew’s General Manager and Partner, Allan Menegus, another South Jersey native, culinary school graduate, and ardent fisherman, with many years as our Executive Chef, established Buckalew’s high standards for fresh seafood, great tomato pies, and introduced many culinary delights of his own to the menu. Sous Chef Dan Sansig who hails from Barnegat, Angelsea Urban, Director of Operations, hails from Ocean County, handles the office, Debbie Keeler is in charge of Marketing and Annette Rutzler, our Restaurant Manager keeps the front of the house running smoothly even on those hectic summer weekends! Gary Smith, Assistant manager, is responsible for the bar operations, maintenance of the entire property and helps run the front of the house operations. And, of course, there’s Joni on the piano almost every night, a fixture at Buckalew’s for many, many years……….a rare and wonderful talent!

I find Buckalews a terrific value proposition and a lot of fun. The food,entertainment, and staff are terrific. The photography and art work on the walls accentuates the "shore" spirit. Try the Mongolian Pork, a bit hit.

This has been a longtime favorite of both locals and visitors to Long Beach Island; great atmosphere and friendly staff! Did I mention the pizzas? They've continued the Buckalew's tradition of creating the best thin-crust pizzas you could ever hope to find. They truly deserve to win!

I have been a chef in the south jersey area for 30 yrs. plus and Buckalews is one of the places that keeps on getting it done! They truly deserve the award for #1 Alan the owner /manager is a strong force, that is the reason this restaurant keeps it fame!
