Amerikick was founded in 1967 by Grandmaster Dennis Tosten and his wife Master Sharon Tosten. Sensei Mark Gallagher, head instructor at the Northeast Philly location, has been training now for 16 years under Tosten. The Amerikick system, created by Master Tosten, includes curriculums based on the traditional arts of Kenpo, Taekwondo, Bando, Filipino Arnis, Shotokan, boxing, kickboxing, sport karate and more. Children who train the Amerikick system will develop life skills, such as, listening, focus, concentration, self discipline, etc... It will also give your child a martial arts education that will help them excel in all aspects of their lives.
Amerikick is the longest established Martial Arts school in Philadelphia and is rated the # 1 school in America by NBL.

Amerikick northeast Philly is the best. The instructors and staff are friendly and helpful. There are many families with multiple members enrolled which is a testament to the atmosphere of the studio. Sensei Mark Gallagher makes classes fun as well as challenging. There is a wide selection of classes offered, such as fitness kickboxing, MMA, and stick fighting, as well as extracurricular activities and fundraisers for charity. My son has been attending Amerikick for about 7 years and I signed up 2 years ago. We have come to regard Sensei Mark and his lovely wife Alicia, along with many of the students, as family. Call or stop in and try a free class. I bet you'll be hooked.
An awesome environment for learning the martial arts. Not only are the senseis knowledgeable but they are all very dedicated to teaching and cultivating confidence. I’ve been a student at Amerikick for a year now and I can truly say that I walk out feeling a real sense of accomplishment. The instructors and my fellow students have made Amerikick very supportive, friendly and intense learning experience that I am happy to be part of.
Amerikick promotes good habits that translate into success in martial arts and in life. I've been a karate mom for more than 11 years. My daughter started at the Amerikick studio in 1997 at the age of 9. Sensei Mark was Kerry's first instructor, and I'm sure he still doesn't realize how much he is revered by her. His passion encouraged her and today at age 21 she is a 3rd degree blackbelt and world champion competitor. Thanks, Sensei Mark! Your dojo is truly the best in PA!!!

Amerikick NE is one of the most amazing program for kids and adults. The staff is very nice and the studio is new and very CLEAN making it a enjoyable for all. They also have a great program for kids with ADD forget the meds go AMERIKICK
AmeriKick Karate is the best martial arts school in the whole area. Great instructors and fantastic for people of all ages. AmeriKick is a Family oriented school. You definately need to choose AmeriKick to be apart of your family.
The truly amazing thing about Amerikick is the people. Sensei Mark Gallagher is the most energetic and passionate instructor in all of Philadelphia and the entire country for that matter. He not only helps his students but spends a lot of his time helping kids through charity. He truly sets a good example for his students. No matter how hard you punch or how high you kick Senei Mark Gallagher makes you feel special. It's been a year since I earned my Black Belt and not a day goes by that I do not apply what I learned at Amerikick to my life. At Amerikick you just don't gain lessons for life you gain friends for life.

About 1 year ago I was looking for a Karate center that would work with my son. Not only did I find Amerikick, but I found AMAZING, CARING, and PATIENT instructors. My son was diagnosed with Autism at three and we joined Amerikick when he was 5 years old. Since joining, my son has truly reach wonderful goals. He is more focused at school, follows 3 to 5 step directions, has more confidence in himself, and is not afraid to talk with Sensai Mark or any other instructors at this great facility. Not only did I enroll one child, but I decided on enroll my youngest as well. Amerikick is truly FAMILY. Thanks for everything Amerikick you have been a blessing to my family. Josh, Jake, and Family

I started at the original school on Cottman Ave as a child. Went back years later as an adult making it to brown belt having to pull out due to other obligations. Finally 15 years and many pounds later I went. Thanks to Sensei Mark's motivation a lot of that extra baggage is gone and thanks to his great instruction I am now a black belt. All this despite breaking both legs and my tailbone in the military. Amerikick does wonders! Not only am I am Amerikick student but so are two of my children. My daughter Avery Rose is a 2nd kyu Brown belt and my son Tommy is a new white belt. ASAH! For Amerikick
