Serenity and turn-of-the century elegance bring visitors to Cape May. From the Victorian bed and breakfast to the horse drawn carriages, Cape May transports visitors back to a gentle, elegant world. Yet, even in Cape May, crowds, trinket shops and noise can spoil the experience. Aleathea's, in the Inn of Cape May is one destination where tourist culture does not impinge upon dining. Turn-of-century style and elegance is respected. Set in the Inn of Cape May, Aleathea's definitely has its charm. The ceilings are decorated with fans and small chandeliers. Antique sideboards accent the dusty rose walls. On the wraparound porch, you can sit in a rocking chair for drinks.

The atmosphere is floral, fresh and summery. The pace is easy. Servers are calm and never rush. The tables are placed far from one another, and diners need never fear being overheard or bumped. The Menz family, owners of Aleathea's, try to provide guests with more than just another dinner out.
Arrangements for romantic Wedding Receptions, festive parties or impression - making business meetings are coordinated by a professional staff to make your special day a memorable one. Our Rose Room can accommodate from 10 to 100 with our seaside Veranda the perfect spot for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.

Aleathea’s Restaurant is by far an extremely romantic place to eat. The dining room is covered in beautiful chandeliers. The atmosphere at night is cozy, especially with the piano playing. Great selection of wines and desserts. The porch is a beautiful place to have after dinner drinks, or ask to have your dessert taken out there to enjoy.

The expertly-prepared cuisine and general ambiance of ALEATHEA'S Restaurant is only the beginning of an evening at our favorite Cape May restaurant. The romantic element is added by the talents of pianist Doug Williams, whose gentle and soothing music adds immensely to the dining experience. Anyone can serve a good meal, but enhancing good food with perfectly-blended piano entertainment makes Aleathea's a special experience!!! There's no place like it on the Jersey Shore....

Incredible ocean front view overlooking the beaches and sunsets of Cape May. Better yet, our dinners were outstanding. Best crab cake I've had in a very long time. After dinner, sitting on the front porch , so close you can hear the waves, topped everything off. We can not wait to go back.
